How is SAO better than Accel World? A main character that’s hard to invest any real interest in with a barely cohesive storyline…. Every other episode is about going and getting some dumbs#!t item that has absolutely nothing to do with trying to complete the game itself. Kirito’s relationship with Asuna was almost appealing, until the incredibly creepy adoption of Yui. Shoot me in the face, that was messed up to watch those eps.
Maybe the quality of the animation is better, but everything else about SAO falls short compared to Accel World in my opinion. AW’s characters actually had background and some depth. I was sucked in immediately, and with the cliffhanger endings for most of the episodes, I couldn’t wait for the next week’s episode to come out. I’ve watched Accel World from beginning to end, twice. I’ve been forcing myself to watch SAO, and I’m 3 episodes behind the current release because the storytelling is annoying, and overall it’s not that great.

It’s funny that you hate SAO because there are rumors that both animes have a connection with each other. For Example the fact that Kirito’s and Asuna’s daughter it turns out to be the black king (Black Lotus) herself. If you think about it she does have the looks of Kirito and his skills in virtual games. This is something that I read in the internet I don’t know if its really legit but sounds believable. Hope it’s true though.

I can say that SAO and FT( Fairy Tail) are the best animes ever but 1ºSAO and then FT.
AW, for me is like in 10 because its always the same shit, the same fuckin game, never change anything!
But in SAO, when Kirito defeat Kayaba, noone was expecting that, only the ones tha read the ligth novel and saw manga.Like me.

Actually SOA and Accel World are based in the same World, Accel World takes place about 20 years after the events in SAO. SAO story had’nt got to it yet but later on after the release of the world seed, an early version of Accel World is created, and Kirito was sent in by the government to investigate.
I later comes to light the the guy who ran Elf-heim Online experimenting on the trapped SAO players had developed the technique to erase memories, and that research was used in the 4th story arch for SAO.
This created the Prototype of Accel World. Kirito after diving into this new world and becoming trapped (see a theme here?) beleaves that hes been in it for a for years when it was actually less than a day, (10,000 times the speed of normal time)
Thats as far as it goes for my knowledge, just something for ppl who hate one show over another, “It’s the same show, just different story archs at different times, Like the Robotech generational timeline (Maybe shouldnt have thrown Robotech into the mix) .

The amount of anime shows with pathetic, weak, dense characters is ridiculous. I swear judging from ONLY the list of anime shows I’ve seen, I would say a ratio of 9:10 of the anime shows are these stupid protagonists that I dislike greatly. That 1:10 are actual protagonists with balls and a back bone and don’t whine over stupid stuff.
Dense to me isn’t really an issue; however, if they make the protagonist so stupid that he can’t understand a girls feelings for him even when she tells him straight out that she loves him or if the protagonist is trapped in a harem situation and isn’t at least slightly turned on about all the ecchi girls drowning him in their boobs then we got a problem.

I know my previous comment I may have come off as hating Accel World but I don’t hate it. In fact it is probably one of my favorite shows too; however, I’m just a little frustrated and annoyed with the main character. He whines too much. I want that ALL to change in the second season because I want a second season too.
I love SAO too. I find each episode ends with an awesome cliff hanger as well and I can’t stop waiting for the next episode to be released. They are both great shows, I just liked SAO a little more because the main protagonist is awesome and not a little whiny chump. Haha! I like The protagonist of Accel World because he cares about everyone and wants to become stronger. I just hope it happens quickly because his whimpiness is kinda annoying.

We are entitled to our own opinions. The reason it was hard for me to get over his appearance was because I can’t relate to him at all. I’m tall and skinny.
He is; however, a unique character like everyone says. I give props to the anime directors for creating an anime with a character like this because most the time people are very judgmental. I almost didn’t watch it because I can’t relate to him. The only reason I watch anime is to feel a connection and relation to the character or characters. Unfortunately and Fortunately I have only been picked on a couple times growing up so I can only relate in that aspect.
After a while, I did get used to his appearance but than his whinyness bugged me. That was the only issue I had with this anime. Other than that, I did enjoy this anime and liked it quite a lot. Still SAO is my FAVORITE anime show and I don’t think anything will beat it anytime soon.

The Green/White king was a pioneer of AW meaning that they were the 1st generation among with the 1000 burst linkers who had received brain burst program from an Unknown publisher thus they have no parent at all. As for Blue Knight and Black Lotus, they’re probably from the 2nd gens. For the other kings I don’t really know what their exact gens but should be somewhere around BK and BL. Also not to spoil too much, there a “connection” between the black and white king.

I don’t really was interested in animes at all but I had huge respect for it, since I grew up with it. Sadly, the only anime I really loved/enjoyed was Bleach, but It already ended… I’m getting incredible depressed when I see an anime wich I enjoyed every episode from it, ends. I hate to start watching a new anime, because I’m just too afraid…
About 3 days ago, I listened to some Nightcore-Music at Youtube. They usually have pictures from anime-girls in it but however, I don’t really cared about them. But one day I saw a beautiful black-haired girl with purple eyes and big butterfly wings cuddling a little piggy.
I was so moved from this picture, I couldn’t just ignore it and skip to the next video. It was like heaven, she was so cute and hot at the same time, now I couldn’t resist watching the anime anymore, so I looked up the name from it.
I started to watch it and I loved it immediately.
And now I’m here and I could smile and cry at the same time. I’m so happy I found this anime! But I’m sad that the first season ended and the second season is still not out yet. Seeing you guys waiting impatient for the next season, makes me want to fly…

But now to the serious part:
First point, Haru.
I can truly understand why many peoples are tired of him to seeing crying every time. But he kind of reminds me in the past, where I was bullied too. I wasn’t fat but I had the same weak personality as him. Always apologizing, no self-confidence and sensitive.
Haru is building up his character slowly but when he fights for his friends and especially for Kuroyukihime he becomes really badass.
But what I can’t understand is that some of you are complaining about how he looks like. Sure, he is fat and looks stupid with his big eyes and small pupils, but don’t you hate it when the main character must always looks like Justin Bieber? What really matters is the interior of a person. I definitly think It’s a good alternation.
Second point, time skips.
There where no time skips in the first season and I really… REALLY hope they’ll won’t be any. When I see something like “3 years later…” I could punch my freaking monitor. I hate it when they do that! I want to know what happens between these timeskips, It’s always shocking me when I see that. But however, It’s all my opinion…
Third point, SAO and Accel World.
This will be a rough one… Since I was checking all the comments above, there were a lot from comparing SAO with Accel World. I can’t really say anything about SAO, because I never was interested in it. I even hate it a bit for delaying the second season of Accel World. But what I know, is that they play in the same universe but within a different timezone. SAO plays in 2022 and Accel World in 2046.
It’s an interesting point, yeah.. What could happened to the characters from SAO? What are they doing now in Accel World? Did X and Y married and be the father/mother of Kuroyurihime? There are interesting questions. I’m sure It will all lighten up, sooner or later. But It doesn’t really makes sense to guess and to discuss about it, do this please on a SAO place but not here.
Another thing is that I read comments from people who are criticizing Accel World. I don’t have a problem with that but don’t say something like: “FUCK! I hate this anime!! When will they shut it down and focus on SAO??? It’s so much better!!” …Think about, It’s not fair shutting an anime down because you don’t like it. And the other way around, I’m sure you don’t want somebody to shut down your anime because he/she doesn’t like it. I think everyone with a certain brain can agree with that.
Alright, that’s all what I had to say from now..
My duty now is to wait for the next season.

AC and SAO forever! xD and the connections make sense (pls note the spoilers) between the two shows. Kirito and Asuna most likely had a child and named her Sacchi since Kirito didn’t want to forget the girl he got killed in SAO and that was Kuroyukihime’s name when that Sky Raker in real life called out to her. Another connection is the time constraints. SAO comes before AC naturally based on the times as well as evidence of the NerveGear. Man if the author is denying any possible connection between the two, he is doing the worst job ever and should just go say “f*** it I’m now putting them together even I wanna facepalm myself” also note that the author of AC is of SAO as well. Well, while we wait for both respective Season 2s. lets all just imagine the possibilities of Accel World as we prepare ourselves for Gun Gale Online.

i’m sorry but unless accel world states it directly there is very small connections between SOA and AW. those connections being they are in the same world, and being written by the same person. accel world hasn’t said anything more then that and i would think that if kirito was kuroyukihime’s dad she would have probably made some kind of assumption… yukihime is very smart and she has no idea why brain burst was created or who created it as well as what happens when the game is beaten thats why she wants to reach level 10.
also FYI Dust Taker was the kid from school if his real name was kirito(which it isnt his name is Seiji) its just coincidence. its not uncommon for writers to use same names and make small chances to them between different stories, i’v done it myself (names that i like a lot anyways). Rust Jigsaw’s real name was never stated either nor was the guy in the last 2 episodes helping Dust Taker. So you guys who thing kirito has a connection to accel world its just speculation. unless its stated in the manga or anime don’t go saying its true.
accel world in my opinion is amazing anime, it has all the elements that make a great anime. there is friendship, allegiances, betrayals, conspiracy, character depth, back story, character growth, and more. Haru started out pretty pathetic and is changing you can see it. as for the last episode, black lotus showing up was part of haru’s growth, he had to learn he could do anything. Also don’t forget we havn’t seen the last of chrome disaster, which every hero has to fall to the dark side at one point in order to learn how to be a hero. Accel world has so much story to tell it could easily become 3-4 seasons.

Unless they don’t get enough funds, AW season 2 is bound to appear. As for SAO season 2, I prefer they don’t do it even tough there is Gun Gale Online arc and UnderWorld arc (which has similarities with the Accel World game). The last episode of SAO didn’t left any unanswered questions so a season 2 would seem more like they are messing a finished story.
AW season 2 on the other hand is a must.
As for the connection between SAO and AW:
In episode 22, Haru checks the VR machine history and reveals that the Nerv Gear(used in SAO) was the fisrt VR machine crated.
As for the possibility of a blood relation between Kirigaia Kazuto(Kirito) and Kuroyukihime:
Kirito’s nickname in SAO was “the black swordsman” and Black Lotus(besides the color preference :P) does have a “fetish” for blades.
And beside the pet name “Sa-chan”, KYH’s full name was never revealed so there might be a “OHHHHHHHHHHHH” moment when we will hear it.
Anyway I can’t wait to see a bad-ass Haru+Chrome Disaster.
I don’t mind the fact that Haru is fat and small, I actually enjoy it. A hero that is not good looking is not an idea used so often which makes it fresh.
The fact that he’s such a pu** that cries for help and runs crying most of the time is so annoying it makes me want to kill him.
Stories should inspire you to become a better man, not tell u that if you are a lame ass loser then you get the girl.
So I really hope season 2 will show us a cool Haru or else they should not bother making it at all.

Accel world isn’t as accidictive compare to SAO. When AW aired, I stop after watching 3 eps, because its kida bored watching a wimp. As for SAO, I find it very adictive and more fast pace.
After SAO ends, I went back to continue on AW and finish all the eps in 2 days. I find that the anime was good but not great. That wimp still end up a wimp and he isn’t even seems to be the main hero but a supportive character of Black Lotus… I also agree with some of the people here that AW lacking in the sense of preciousness(life and death/gain and lost). Still I only find my interests with Black Lotus(somewhat charms and her taste of picking on Haru to love)
I can see how kind Haru is but his wimpy characteristic really drags and bored the anime….But the anit P (Nomi) is indeed such bad ass to the core making audience real mad (wanting to kick his ass ourselves), which light the anime with added colors. That makes us want to see how this bad dudes end up. Compare to SAO I definitely eager to see season 2, Accel World wise, waiting for season 2 is only to see the conclusion of the story, to have a closure.
Anyway, the writer are good with both story has it’s own fans and both are popular anime. Lets hope they would let us wait no more longer….

Firstly, SAO and AW have their different storyline but AW is the future of SAO since nerve gear is the first generation. Secondly, both SAO and AW are awesome, we cant judge whether which is better but we should just think it is ” the one i prefer ” because everyone have his/her different view. I really love AW, the story amd most thing in it felt right. SOA…. I just couldn’t get through all the filler like episodes. and when i read the manga i was not surprised how fast paced the anime is. Leaps through the game kinda make me feel like this could have been such a good anime/manga but lack of time and inspiration made it so so. I watched AW a week after I saw SOA. I love how he is a nobody who still isn’t incredibly strong even in accelerated mode. Unlike kirito who simply uses miracles to beat every boss and problem.

People I don’t really understand how you put this that way, I’ve watched both of them, I’m still waiting for both season releases (SAO and ACCEL WORLD) however, if you think really well, you’ll notice Accel still has MANY story left behind the first season. SAO’s Alfheim is considered as a season 2, but it had what I call “Baka Ending”, cuz there’s still something to say too. Constructive critism is productive enough, but you have to choose your words properly. It is not amusing to descriminate the work of the animators and manga artist in such a vulgar way. I hope some of you have thanked these people who worked so hard and passionately to make this anime happen. I wouldn’t wonder if there won’t be a season 2 this year, if it wasn’t for those can’t keep their sanity enough to show some respect for those who worked hard for this project. Before you demand for something else, be sure to show some appreciation and respect for these gifted hard working people. I don’t think you didn’t like both anime since most of you sticked to it until the end of the season. That itself proved that watching both anime was worth your time until you finished it. Anyway, for all the people who worked on this project I commend you of a job well done and it was a fasinating season for Accel World, since this IS a site for Accel World. For the SAO fans, let’s just hope that there are more to come. Thanks again for making this anime it was worth watching, I hope there would be season 2.

I have to agree with gotakeawalk AW does have a better chance of getting a 2nd season but since SAO is very popular they might also make a 2nd season but they really messed up on alfhiem they messed up the way they were supposed to get to the city I hated that. the reason that some find AW better and some SAO is what shows that peoples opinions differ.

SAO had an ending already but i would like to see how the next story unfolds.

Stop with the head-on-head fight between Sword Art Online and Accel World. They’re both currently my favorite anime series, and bashing either of them kind of annoys me. They’re both great and each one of them has their pros and cons. Anyway, I much prefer an new Accel World season 2. The last episode ended of with a cliffhanger and I’m not a fan of that! Sword Art Online had two arcs completely finished and all duties have been fulfilled, so that should be good enough for me. But Accel World had open questions and unfinished ties left open in the last episode. Is Kuroyukihime going to reach level 10? Who’s the creator of Brain Burst? What was the motive for Black Lotus to decapitate the previous red king? What kind of things are waiting for Silver Crow with the calamity armor still within him? I really need a season 2 to have all these questions, and even more ones, answered! Good thing is that Accel World’s BD sales were pretty solid so that’s most likely to influence the probability of season 2.
Nonetheless, I much more prefer a second season for Accel World than Sword Art Online. Accel World, in my opinion, is still unfinished, and it’s possible to finish it by giving us a second season which will answer all the open questions and fulfill all goals of the characters. Gun Gale Online can wait, in my opinion.

I finished wartching SAO and it is realy a good story then made research who wrote it and found about his other work and found AW and it is a good story too .AW mentioned SAO about the evolution of nerve gear. I am still hoping for season 3 of sao thus season 2 of AW .. The Aw was a suspence since a lot of questions was not answered yet….if you let me compare this two I’ll answerit as agamer . Sword art ve ways to be strong like hunting for items, gold, pk, dungueon etc it is more realistic in playing online game. Aw is much more on your cjaracter features which is base on your burden in real life which is actualy unfair for other players . In sao when you die probability is that you die in real life bcuz some actualy were alive AW wil erease your memory about playing that particular game . But overall they are both good and a must watch anime looking forward on the next seaso

Well i am a great anime fan and i like Accel world a lot and if you take a look at the light novel’s from accel world you see that for the first season they used novel 1 to 4 so there are 9 light novel’s left to make episode’s about. About sword art online i dont know a lot yet i will be looking that anime sometime soon too but i think that if you take a look to which game worlds they go too which are SOA, ALO, GGO and UW and i don’t knwo which game’s they have covered in the anime cuz i haven’t seen it yet but they could go further till all the games are completed.

Well my friends and I watch anime a lot. We both loved watching Accel World to the fullest extent of the word loved. From the characters relationships to one another, their background stories, the development of their duel avatars. Everything about this storyline is great and I await anxiously for a release of a season 2. Silver Crow and the Black King make for a great relationship and I was on the verge of tears by episode 6 of this intense anime. The action and emotions that have been integrated into this makes for an amazing story which if they continue (hopefully this year because 2 year gaps are usual in anime that I have seen) I will watch regularly. If only I had known earlier of the American Debut I would have watched, but even now I enjoy with even subtitles because I love the raw feel and interpretation instead of trying to match their mouths to the words said. But Season 2 is a absolute must.

When I saw u guyz keep comparing between which SAO or AW is better, I was like ‘ dafug? What for comparing both anyone’s when they are both created from the same author and even released by the same company?’ Both of the anime’s are related because firstly, they uses the same school, same uniform and same badges. Second, I read the newest released SAO light novel which is released on 10th of April 2013 and it showed that kirito is already using the brain cip to get into the game which is 1000x time as the normal world just like accel world. So, I am sure both anime is linked together just like ‘ to aru majutsu no Index ‘ and ‘ to aru kakeku no railgun’. Anyway, it should be best not to compare them anymore since it’s shows no respect to the author of both SAO / AW.
